Preparation and Superhydrophobicity of Nano-Al-Coated Wood by Magnetron Sputtering Based on Glow-Discharge Plasma

A superhydrophobic coating on wood can effectively improve the hydrophobicity and service life of wood. In this study, an Al nano-coating was constructed transversal section poplar by magnetron sputtering based glow-discharge plasma. The structure, microscopic morphology, surface elements, hydrophobic properties were characterized tested. When coated for 20 s, water contact angle sample reach 148.9°. 30 min, Al-coated had a 157.3°, which could maintain excellent 300 s. sputtered nanoparticles uniformly distributed formed nanoclusters. Plenty voids between clusters trap air block droplets coating, making obtain properties. time 60 characteristic peak (111) crystal plane appeared at 38.4°, while intensities (101), (002), (040) peaks cellulose reduced. conclusion, used to deposit without low free energy agents. Furthermore, research provides new inspirations physical modification construction coatings
